This seems to be the year for authors debuting their first novels. And what a year it has been!! The Someday Birds , The Ethan I Was Before , and this gem of a novel , Lemons, are written by first time authors. Melissa Savage has written a fun novel about two kids who are Bigfoot detectives. Lemonade Witt is staying with her beloved teacher temporarily after Lemonade's mother dies. Everything is going well until a social worker shows up one day, and takes Lemonade to live with a recently discovered family member 6 hours north (somewhere in northern California I believe). Lemonade reluctantly goes thinking she will be back with her teacher in no time at all. Lemonade discovers she is going to stay with a grandfather she has never met, and her life is forever changed. Lemonade meets Tobin who lives across the street and together they hunt the illusive Bigfoot who has been seen in their area. Christie readers will love love this book as it takes them on a great adventure as Lemonade finds a new home and family after losing her mother.
